Patience with Purpose

"Don't worry about it, just wait for God's timing!" That’s what everyone tells us when things get hard, or whenever we fail…when we miss out on an opportunity, or when something simply doesn't go our way. It can be seen as an encouraging statement to the person giving the message, but it can also feel extremely frustrating to the one receiving it.

• But WHY, God?

• What did I do wrong?

• What am I missing?

• Why do I have to wait?

And often, we are left with so much negativity and so many doubts…

• Maybe this wasn't meant to be…

• I don't understand why He would bring me here just to fail…

• I should just give up!

• Maybe I should just move on…

• This was such a dumb idea…I don’t know why I even tried in the first place…

These are all EXTREMELY common questions and thoughts that we tend to slip into when we are vulnerable and hurt. I promise, you are not the first or the last person to have doubts; it’s simply in our human nature to react this way. But here is something I want you to ALWAYS remember when God puts you in the waiting:

Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!
— Psalm 27:14

We can stand firm in knowing that God will give us the strength to push through the wait! TYJ!!! Failure is inevitable. It is going to happen time and time again because we are not perfect! Instead of looking at failure as discouragement, we should look at failure as an opportunity! God's 'no' is not punishment, its preparation!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future
— Jeremiah 29:11

I know how difficult it can be to accept whenever God tells you 'no' or 'not right now'. But this is where our Faith and Hope is put to the test; this is where we are challenged to grow! I know it’s easier said than done, but God calls us to always trust in him!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
— Proverbs 3:5-6

So, what are you going to do?

Are you going to trust God in the waiting?

When God calls you to be patient and to trust in Him, I encourage you to spend more time with Him! Open your Bible, open your heart, and get ready to receive an abundance of peace, love, and guidance. God will always provide, you just have to be willing to wait for that blessing and grow during the process!

With the biggest smile and a heart full of gratitude, I wish you well <3

Love,

Madi Brooke
